Tip of the Month
Use some of the following practices to help you prevent low back problems at home and around the workplace.
Use the buttock and leg muscles, instead of the low back muscles, when lifting heavy objects.
Sleep on your side with knees flexed and avoid sleeping on your stomach.
A well-rounded flexibility program includes at least one exercise for each major muscle group of the body.
Flexibility exercises should be performed at least 3 days per week, but preferably daily.
Lack of flexibility is a major cause of low back problems.
